Mary
Mary is typically drawn in a white and blue outfit because…
Blue was specifically difficult to make, if you had any blue dye or blue clothing you would be seen as a wealthy and or rich person. So they would do this in order to show that she was rich in love and kindness.
Mary grew up in a town in Nazareth, Galilee, with her mother Anne and her father Joachim.
When one day an angel appeared in front of Mary. He told her that God had chosen her to be the mother of his son, the one that will save all humanity and relieve us from sin. Mary accepted his offer and quickly went home to tell her husband about what had happened.
When Jesus was born Mary would care for and try to protect her son, she did this very well but she could not save him from everything.
When Jesus was condemned to death and nailed to the cross, Mary accepted that it was part of what God had said that he would do to relieve us from any sinful behaviour, so she stood by Jesus even during his lowest points.
Because of the never ending love that Mary had for Jesus he allowed her to ascend into heaven body and soul.
And allowed us to see her as our own mother as well.
Because of her love and acceptance she was blessed and blessed us as well.
In room 1 we've been looking at Mary and how she played one of the biggest roles in Jesus' life and our's.
